Hardware Engineer Job Openings in San Disk:

In this position, the individual will lead team involved with design of SanDisk’s industry leading removable memory storage products such as USB 2.0/3.0 Flash drives, Compact Flash and CFAST, SD/uSD storage card. In addition to product design the team also owns delivering internal validation platforms for these various products configurations to aid development, validation and debug of Silicon, FW/SW/HW etc.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to 
• Working with product development team lead to understand the requirements and come up with H/W requirement spec
• Come up with H/W architecture definition to address the feature requirements of the new generation products 
• Lead a team of 3-5 engineers and also should possess hands on skills with board design, schematic and layout tools 
• Responsible for cost optimization of the product lines and identifying least cost components without impacting product performance 
• Closely work with layout and electrical analysis team for an optimized design
• Closely work with PCB fab and assembly vendors for proto manufacturing
• Carry out proto H/W bring up and health checks to identify and debug any potential issues. Closely work with system integration teams to debug reported issues.

This position requires a minimum of MS/MTech degree with 9 or more years of relevant hardware design experience. Experience in Flash industry would be a plus. The candidate must have thorough technical understanding of digital board design, good base of analog design and high speed measurement experience. Should have hand on experience with cadence tools like OrCAD, Allegro. The ideal candidate must have a proven ability in successfully leading design teams to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Must be self-motivated and self-directed, however, must also have a demonstrated ability to work well with people and have a proven desire, ability to work as a team member in a multi-team environment. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
